Need an item? Couch, Highchair, Books for you child? This link is great. Post what you have to give, if anything, or post what you need. It is a Yahoo group for the Tallahassee, Big Bend Area so you will need to become a member, no dues, just send a note saying why you want to join.
You can get emails daily, weekly or as they are posted in the group. It's called Freecycle Tallahassee. These groups are all over the nation and I have personally received a gently used Tricycle, highchair and playpen in the past for my Grandkids. I have also been able to pass on items, like clothing, furniture and such that I no longer needed or my kids had grown out of. Often you will see larger items too like Washers and Dryers being offered. It's a great way to recycle and keep so much out of our landfills too!

This is the link to the Tallahassee Housing Aurthority. You can apply for public housing, find a list of landlords who accept Section 8 Vouchers and the addresses of the properties. They also have other programs such as a family reunification program for parents who have had problems where Children and Families have had to intervene to assist with housing the family upon reunification. I have actually been on the list for public housing for a long time but one day my name will be on top. However, I don't think all the programs have such a long waiting list. Additionally, if you have a property you wish to rent to Section 8 clients you can also find out how to comply and join.

Vocational Rehab has several programs for those who are disabled. This links you to the list of programs. My former husband was in desperate need of dental work and was able to get a referral to a dentist. He needed dentures and since he had to work with the public they were able to fund his dental work so he could stay in his position and be free of pain.
